MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK SHEEP SALE REPORT 24-09-20
An entry of 1650 sheep in Markethill on Wednesday 23rd September sold in a steady demand for both fat lambs and stores.
Heavy lambs sold from £92 to £97 each with good quality pens from 370p to 388p per kilo for 34 lambs 24kilos @ £93 each from an Armagh producer followed by 382p per kilo for 24.5kilos @ £93.50 each from a Dungannon farmer.
Good quality middleweight lambs sold from 400p to 455p per kilo for 20kilos @ £91 each from a Warrenpoint farmer followed by 423p per kilo for 17 lambs 20.1kilos @ £85 each from a Tynan producer.
Another large entry of store lambs returned another very firm trade with light stores from 480p to 531p per kilo for 13kilos @ £69 each from a Lislea farmer followed by 520p per kilo for 15kilos @ £78 each from a Dungannon farmer. Stronger stores sold from 440p to 494p per kilo for 21 lambs 17kilos @ £84 each from a Draperstown farmer.
Cull ewes sold from £75 to £116 each. Plainer ewes sold from £50 to £70 each. Breeding hoggets sold up to £195 each with other pens selling from £150 to £188 each. Breeding Rams sold to £300 each.
