MARKETHILL LIVESTOCK SHEEP SALE REPORT 16-07-20
An entry of 1850 sheep in Markethill on Wednesday 15th July continued to sell in an excellent demand.
Good quality middleweight lambs sold from 430p to 450p per kilo for 22.1kilos @ £100 each from a Dungannon farmer followed by 449p per kilo for 22.6kilos @ £101.50 each from a Crossmaglen producer.
Heavy lambs sold to £110 each. Several pens of lambs sold from £104 to £109 each. Top rate of 432p per kilo was paid for 25 kilos @ £108 each followed by 427p per kilo for 25.5kilos @ £109 each.
A large entry of store lambs sold in a very firm demand with light stores from 440p to 500p per kilo for 12.8kilos @ £64 each followed by 10.6kilos @ £53 each. Stronger stores sold to 435p per kilo for 19.9 kilos @ £86.50 each. Main demand from 420p to 430p per kilo.
The 400 cull ewes returned an excellent trade to a top of £126 each with others selling from £119, £118 & £117 and £115 each. All good quality heavy ewes sold from £90 to £112 each. Plainer ewes sold from £60 to £80 each.
Breeding hoggets sold to a top of £188 each with several top quality pens from £170 to £185 each. Others from £155 to £165 each.
